Summer Season

The summer season in Spiti is considered to be the perfect time for a visit. March to June is the time when this fantabulous destination witnesses summers with temperatures that drop below 15 degrees Celsius. One can easily explore places and yes also indulge in some activities & things to do - trekking, camping mountain biking and hiking. Add some amazing places to explore during this particular time- Pin Valley National Park, Chandratal lake, Kunzum Pass, Dhankar Monastery, Baralacha Pass and Trilokinath temple. If you are planning your visit between March and May then take the Shimla-Spiti route and if you are traveling in June then you can access Spiti from the Manali side.

Monsoon Season

Monsoon in Spiti Valley is witnessed from July till September with the temperature ranging from 13 to 27 degrees Celcius. Monsoon season is not considered the best for exploring Spiti. Avoid this season as the incessant torrential rainfall increases the occurrence of Landslides. Most of the roads also remain closed due to natural calamities. But if one is interested to visit Spiti during this season then they can explore places like Nako village, Tabo village, Chandratal lake, Komic, Hikkim, Dhankar,  and Mudh village. During this particular month, Spiti is accessible from both Manali and Shimla routes.

Winter Season

The Winter season in Spiti valley is witnessed from October till February with the temperature ranging between -4 to 2 degrees Celcius. Most of the roads in Spiti remain blocked and inaccessible making it unsafe to visit Spiti from October to January. If one wants to indulge in adventure then one should head towards this place in the second week of February, a great time for adventure. It is indeed the perfect time for those who want to experience extreme winter adventures like winter treks. During this particular season, Spiti is accessible only from the Shimla side. Here are some places to add to your Spiti tour itinerary – Chandratal lake, Kibber, Chicham Bridge, and Gue village.
