A heritage monument, Gorton Castle, is located in beautiful Shimla and was built during the colonial era. This monument is a fine example of the rich history and heritage of India during the colonial era. It is indeed one of the top attractions in Shimla.

Gorton Castle is built in the Neo-Gothic type of architecture and is located on a hilltop and is surrounded by tall lush green Deodar trees. This castle is a three-story building. It has tall towers, pretty windows, huge doors, and a roof that was made of tiles but now is replaced with stirred iron sheets.

One can witness the balconies here that are adorned with customary Rajasthani Jaali work and the whole building is encircled by shrubs and trees. Make sure to plan a trip here between October and February as the region receives snowfall which makes the landscape around the castle beautiful.
