Situated in beautiful Manali, the Himalaya Nyingmapa Buddhist temple is one of the famous monasteries in north India and is located very close to Mall road in Manali. In front of this monastery, one may find a narrow pathway lined by shrubs and spacious lawns on either side. This monastery is majorly renowned for its architectural beauty and serenity.
This monastery is constructed in the traditional Tibetan style of architecture. It is a two-story structure and has a pagoda. The main shrine is encircled by a passage where the prayer wheels are installed. The key highlight of this beautiful monastery is the idol of Sakyamuni, 4.5 feet tall and is seen in a sitting posture.
Another major attraction is the statues and the colorful paintings on the walls. One may find paintings depicting the life and principles of Gautam Buddha. One may even find several statues of Buddha in different sizes and shapes installed in the monastery. Make sure to indulge in meditation here for a few minutes to get a glimpse into the peaceful lives of Buddhist monks. Remember, footwear is not allowed inside the monastery.
