Pay a visit to the Kali Bari temple situated in beautiful Shimla. Kali Bari temple is one of the ancient temples of the city and is built in Hindu-style architecture along with the blue-colored wooden idol of goddess Kali adorned with jewelry and colorful flowers. This temple is located at a distance of 1.5kms from Shimla railway station and 1km from Shimla's old bus stand. Kali Bari temple was constructed in the year 1845. As per the devotees, Ma kali looks after people who worship her with faith and dedication. One can seek the blessings of Ma Kali here in the form of Ma Tara, Ma Parvati, Ma Bhavani, Ma Kumar Sati, Ma Rudrarani, Ma Meenakshi, Maa Chamunda, and Maa Himavati.

 It is one of the topmost visited places in Shimla. This temple is renowned for its historical and festival importance. One can offer prayers at this temple at any time of the year but paying a visit during the auspicious occasion of Durga puja and Kali Puja is considered best as at the time of Durga puja it is believed that Ma Kali along with her family comes to her abode, the Himalayas, to bless her devotees.

During the time of Navratri, several tourists visit this place to take blessings. There is a huge celebration at the temple to celebrate the victory of the goddess-mother Kali over evil on the day of Diwali. This temple also provides accommodation facilities to tourists who wish to stay nearby.
